Portrait ? Natural Lighting !

In this photo is a young girl who is gazing outside of the door. As you can see, there is sunlight that is coming in through the door. This photo shows how natural can also be used in the photograph. This photograph is very literal. I planned just to show the models natural beauty with the use of the lighting. I think that i was very successful in my attempts. I had her look directly outside of the door so that the sun would be shining directly on her face. The angle is awesome because of the fact that you dont see her whole face.
Everything in this photo is in focus because, i wanted to highlight the suns effect on everything. Especially because of the fact that she is the main point, and she is a huge part of the image. So I didnt need to zoom in on her at all.

Manjari Sharma - Master Portrait photographer.

She was born in Bombay, India. She viewed photography as a hobby as she took snapshots of her family. When she was headed into college at S.N.B.P. Women's University, with a major of Food and Nutrition. After a lecture from a professor, she quickly switched her major to photography. After college, she then began to take photos for the local Newspaper in Bombay.

She then came to America to get her BFA in photography at Columbus College of Art and Design. After recieving her second degree, she worked at a publishing House in Ohio. After years of working at this job, she realized that she wanted to focus on people and portraits.

Manjari moved to New York and started to shoot on her own.  It was hard for her at first. Her only models were women and gay men. As she was doing a shoot with models in the shower, she noticed that the models were becoming more comfortable when the water was running. Alot more intimate moments were shared in front of the camera. This idea soon became the main idea of this photo project. As this project wrapped, everyone began to take notice of her project.  Soon companies such as AOL, and Penguin Books were knocking at her door asking her to shoot for them.

Soon she recieved the "HONORABLE MENTION" at the IPA Lucie Awards, and even won third place in the Viewer's choice Awards in the Eye of the Strand Photo Contest. She is truly an up and coming photography. And establishing herself through her Shower Project was the perfect way to get the world of photography's attention.

I like her works because of the lighting that she uses. She effortlessly conveys sensuality with her models. The shower idea is so good because its something that is commonly done in the photography world. I like that fact that she used an idea that was so unique and exposed it to the world.
