using brushes on photoshop.

So this is a photo of myself,  in front of a white background. We are using natural sunlight. We just took a white board background outside. We imported them onto the computer and began to edit them on photoshop. First I adjusted the picture size, and the brightness/contrast. Then explored the possible brushes I could use. I finally settled on the brush that says "Lost Mind", and I first used it in orange to accent the purple and pink on my shirt. Then I did the brush again, but with black to make it look like a shadow type thing. I also found these flower-type brushes and did the same thing like I did with the other brush, but only with black and pink. I would use photoshop more because I like the effects that it had on my pictures with the brushes. I think it would impossible to do the same thing naturally. It also makes me feel more technology 'literate'. I definitely think that this picture was a success.

I also used "photoshopessentials.com" to soften the other picture of myself. I followed the steps on the websites and I successfully softened  my face. I can go without it, though because I couldnt really see a difference at first. It is helpful, but it isnt really essential for my pictures.

Studio Lighting !

 So this is my studio lighting photo. This is a picture of a girl holding a dreamcatcher. She has on a black shirt with a lion on it. She is also wearing a beanie. At the end of the dreamcatcher there are feathers. Since this is the studio lighting assignment, I used a hot light to illuminate her features. I made sure that I lit up her face to show her expressions. In this photo I wanted to show her thinking and reflecting everything in her life. This image in a way is figurative, but in a way literal because the dreamcatcher is present. I chose the black background because I wanted to get more of a picture out of it. I also wanted to get a shadow out of it. The shadow is also something that I did purposely. But the only mistake that I made is her not wearing a black shirt because it is kinda difficult to distinguish her arm from her shirt on the black background. 

Sequencing !

So this is my Sequencing assignment entitled "SABOTAGE". The overview of this story is someone being setting up &instigating a fight between 2 other girls. This is a really funny story, while also being amazing interesting. It includes some of the other projects that we hae dome over the course such as lighting and motion. I remember when I first acquired the camera so I could do this, it was so hard for me to think of a story to tell. So after a long time of pondering about what I wanted to do, it finally came to me, A FIGHT ! So after I thought of the concept, the actual process of the shoot went really great, it was easy. After I processed the film, it was time to print I thought of a really easy way to print multiple photos in a short amount of time. I ended up with 11 photos. I made my book with grace and ease because it was a actual process that didnt need chemicals or anything. I think that I succeed in everything. My story is told and my book is together, which is really rewarding. 

Self Portrait Assignment !

So this is the Self Portrait assignment, which was quite the experience. It took me awhile to figure what looks I should go with. I was instructed to pick 3 looks that look nothing like me, along with one that was a regular shot of myself. So I figured that I would just look around me for the most outrageous of props to use. It was really funny when I was taking some pictures because I was looking at myself dressed someone totally different. I loved it. It reminded me of my acting. It was like a feeling of excitement, but also a feeling of acceptance within myself because I know that I portraying someone else for a valid reason. But then, after I was reviewing the pictures, I began to identify with the different characters. It was a weird, but fulfilling feeling. So after I took the shots, it was time to use photoshop!! So, I cropped the portion of the photo that I wanted. Then I copy and pasted it to a new document, but the key was making it small enough to make 4 shots of the same picture to make a bigger shot. I did this 3 more times. It was more easier than I thought it would be. After I finished copy and pasting the 4 pictures, it was time to flatten the image, and then the picture was complete! This process was really, fun. Even though it was kind of technical, I enjoyed doing it. It was really relaxing in a way. It almost unexplainable. And below is the final product !

Photoshop assignment !

This is a picture of a girl jumping from a cliff into the beach shore down below. This picture was originally from my motion photo. I used photoshop to cut out one of the girls and pasted her into a picture of a beach &cliff I found on google. The process happened to be a little frustrating at first. I couldnt cut around the girl as accurate as I wanted. It took me awhile to finally cut her out. Then I pasted her on the cliff on the perfect position. Once she was there, I used the eraser to try to get rid of little pieces of the pictures that she used to be in from around her outline. I had to be so delicate to when erasing. But it eventually came out nicely. Im not so proud of this picture. I think that I could have done better. But i do definitely think that I got my point across.

So this is a photo of 2 girls that are airborne with the circle of the sun as their background. They have both arms up in the air & both feet off of the ground. The girl on the left has very relaxed facial expression, while the girl on the right has a crazy look on her face to show that she put some effort into the jump. I didn't zoom in on the women because I also wanted to get a shot of the school behind them. They are the only people in the area. This picture is to represent the fun that could happen with people in such a quiet and empty space. This image is supposed to be very literal. I wanted to get a shot of them while the sun was out, and purposely didnt include the ground that they jumped to show how free they were. I think that I succeeded in showing the amount of freedom that the girls have.
